Nathaniel Cline Became Yamiche Alcindor’s Husband In 2018
Since she rose to celebrity status as a journalist, Yamiche Alcindor seemed to be all about her profession, she did not come across as one to share too much about her personal life with the public and this has since remained the case. However, that changed a little in early 2018 when news surfaced that she was married.
The PBS White House Correspondent revealed that she married a certain Nathaniel Cline on the 3rd of March 2018. She made this revelation on Twitter alongside a photo of her wedding day, she also wrote in the post that she would be taking some time off to spend more time with her husband.
Though Alcindor has not revealed too many details about her relationship, some sources claim that they were in a long-term relationship dating as far back as 2014. Cline is said to have popped the question in 2016 and two years later, the couple sealed the deal.
Admirers of Alcindor’s works got a glimpse into what her husband might be like thanks to a post made by Essence Magazine on November 16, 2018. The magazine took to Twitter asking followers to raise their hand if they loved a good groom cry. Cline replied to the tweet saying that there were no tears for him on his wedding day to Alcindor, he also joked in his reply saying that he rather hoped that Alcindor would catch his velvet shoes. Alcindor quoted the tweet and added a response of her own, jokingly introducing her followers to who she married.
Folks, this is who I married. 👀 https://t.co/pLSqVq82vr

Yamiche Alcindor’s admirers again got a sneak peek into what her marriage was like during her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on April 10, 2020. When asked how she decompressed after a stressful day at work, the ace journalist said that she unwinds by spending time with her husband talking to him about her day, adding that she was so lucky to have him. She also added that she plays songs by three-time Grammy winner Bill Withers on repeat.
What Does Yamiche Alcindor’s Husband Do For a Living?
In those moments when she decompresses by her husband’s side, one can imagine that the conversation would flow so smoothly as both couples are in the same career line. Like Alcindor, Cline is a journalist. According to his Twitter profile, he covers government actions and policies that impact Loudoun County in the state of Virginia for the Loudoun Times-Mirror, a position he assumed in May 2018, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Nathaniel Cline graduated from Bowie State University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. In college, he was part of the varsity soccer club and served as the resident assistant for the school’s housing department. He interned for Washington D.C’s WAMU 88.5 where he assisted producers with content for radio personalities and their shows. He also worked for his school’s media as an anchor, cameraman, reporter, director, and writer.
Alcindor’s husband began his career as a professional journalist in 2007 as the government reporter, photographer, and copy editor for Westmoreland news. Does Yamiche Have a Child?
Most celebrity journalist usually use their social media platforms to update their followers on milestones in their private lives like welcoming a child, an anniversary, and for some, details of vacation trips, however, Alcindor does not seem to count among that lot, she is one of those private ones who would rather keep the identity of their family members private, thus making it difficult to answer the question of whether or not she has a child. The journalist has never revealed whether or not she is a mother to any child.
Who Are Yamiche Alcindor’s Parents?
Yamiche Alcindor has also kept the identity of her parents away from the media. It is however an established fact that they are Haitian natives with her father hailing from Plaisance while her mother is from Saint-Louis-du-Nord. Her Haitian-born immigrant parents would have her in Miami, Florida on November 1, 1986.
Alcindor credits her culturally authentic Haitian upbringing for shaping who she has become. She is fluent in Haitian Creole and also has basic French skills. Her parent obviously placed value on her education as she went on to college, earning a bachelor’s degree in English and government with a minor in African-American studies at Georgetown University in 2009.
The journalist once said in a tweet posted in 2016 that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was her father, however, she pointed out that it was only a joke and that they were both in no way related. The ace journalist could pull off the joke because she shares the same surname with the basketball legend who shined in the NBA from the late 60s to the late 80s. Abdul-Jabbar name at birth was Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr.
And now my dad Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, @kaj33, got jokes.
(P.S. Just kidding. Not related.)

The NBA legend changed his name after he converted from Catholicism to Islam during the summer of 1968. He began using his Islam name in 1971.
@yamiche Nice report on Disrupt with @finneyk. Gotta ask, are you related to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar? #ZimmermanTrial

Back in 2013, a Twitter user had asked if she was ever related to the former NBA player and her 2016 tweet was an answer to that.
